1958年2月6日，曼联队乘坐的飞机在慕尼黑加油后，因跑道上的积雪和冰水混合物导致飞机滑出跑道，撞上篱笆并撞毁一座房屋、机上的44人中有23人遇难。
曼联对昨天的追悼会进行了直播，并在社交媒体上发帖写道：“我们当时爱他们，我们现在也爱他们，今天以及后面的每一天，我们都记得他们。”
